Scientific Foundations 1.5 hours, 80 scored MCQ’s

Practical/Applied 2.5 hours, 110 scored MCQ’s

Company: Complete Body Movement

Course: Intensive Mat Plus (IMP)

Overview: This course teaches you to design and teach the Level 1 (essential and intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating small equipment to add variety and meet the specific needs of your clients.

 

Time: 40 hours over 8 days, instruction and supervised teaching (supervised course hours)

10 hours observation of other instructors (observations outside class time)

30 hours physical review (performing the exercises outside class time)

15 hours practice teaching (outside class time)Total – 95 hours

Practical: Teach a full workout for 60 minutes to one individual

Need 80% to obtain a pass grade in both

Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI):

Course: APPI Matwork Level 1- The Foundation

Matwork Level One is the first in the series for the matwork certification, it is also the foundation course for all modified pilates teaching courses.

Course: APPI Matwork Level 2- Class Instructor

This course is specifically designed for those who have completed the Matwork Level One course at least three months prior.

Course: APPI Matwork Level 3- Intermediate/AdvancedMatwork

Level Three builds upon the movements, understanding, cueing skills and exercise selection framework of level one. Must have completed Level 1 six months prior.

Overview: Interactive workshop to prepare students for professional practice

Set up a journal club with colleagues and peers. It is a great way to keep in contact with friends, further your knowledge and gain CPD points. The ISCP provides great guidelines to getting started with your own jounal club.

General courses and a few other options

These course can be expensive, and sometimes specialized, and it is fair to say not all of us will want to run out so spend what little money we have left afer college on expensive courses that may not ever come in useful. That being said this section includes two more course options that may be beneficial, followed by some free options and CPD choices.
